Looking after it

Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse off shampoo residue now and then so it does not dry on the steel. Do not use abrasive pads or bleach-based cleaners on the finish.

No DrillingSticks to tile with the supplied adhesive pads
Rust ProofSUS 304 stainless steel, made for a wet room
Holds Up To 18 kgEnough for full bottles, not just travel sizes
Five PiecesTwo shelves, two soap holders and a toothbrush holder

Five pieces that get every bottle off the shower floor.

A stainless steel shower caddy set that sticks to tile in about five minutes, holds up to 18 kg and will not rust in a wet room.

The set is five pieces rather than a single shelf, so you can put storage where you actually reach for it instead of stacking everything in one corner.

It fixes with adhesive pads rather than screws, which matters in a shower because drilling tile means drilling through the waterproofing behind it.

The steel is SUS 304, the grade used for sinks and splashbacks, so constant water does not mark or corrode it.

The shelves are hollow rather than solid, so water drains through instead of collecting under the bottles.

It is rated to 18 kg across the set, which is full-size shampoo and conditioner rather than hotel miniatures.

Shower Caddy

Most shower storage fails in one of two ways. It either hangs off the showerhead and swings every time you reach for the shampoo, or it is a plastic corner unit with suction cups that lets go in the middle of the night. This set does neither, because it fixes flat to the tile with adhesive pads and stays where you put it.

Shower Caddy

Fixing without drilling is the point. Behind bathroom tile there is usually a waterproof membrane or tanking, and a drill bit goes through it. Adhesive pads leave that layer intact, which is why they suit rented flats, new bathrooms and anywhere you would rather not make a permanent hole.

Shower Caddy

The grade of steel does the long-term work. SUS 304 is the same stainless used for kitchen sinks, chosen because it tolerates constant water without pitting. A painted or chrome-plated rack looks the same on day one and starts lifting at the edges once water gets under the coating.

Five pieces is more useful than one big shelf. The two shelves take bottles, the soap holders go at the height you actually wash at, and the toothbrush holder is small enough to move to the sink if the shower is tight on space.

The 18 kg rating is what makes it worth fitting properly. Give the adhesive pads a clean, dry, fully cured tile surface and the full 24 hours before loading, and the set carries a family's worth of full bottles rather than needing a rethink in a fortnight.

Not sure yet? That is fine.

You can change your mind. This shop's own returns policy gives you 15 days from purchase to send it back in its original packaging with proof of purchase, and we refund the price you paid for the goods.

If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. We pay the return postage and you can have a repair, a replacement or your money back, and provincial consumer protection law protects you whatever our policy says. Frequently Asked Questions

What is a shower caddy?

A shower caddy is a bathroom accessory that holds and organises your shower essentials. This one is a five piece set: two shelves for bottles, two soap holders and a toothbrush holder, so shampoo, conditioner, soap and razors each have a place instead of sitting on the shower floor.

How do these shower shelves fix to the wall?

They fix with adhesive pads, five of which are included. You clean and dry the tile, press the mount firmly into place and leave it to bond before loading it. There is no drilling and no tools involved.

Do I need to drill into my tiles?

No. The whole set is adhesive mounted. That matters more than it sounds, because there is usually a waterproof membrane behind bathroom tile and a drill bit goes straight through it.

How much weight will it hold?

The set is rated to hold up to 18 kg. That is full size shampoo and conditioner bottles rather than travel miniatures, provided the pads are fitted to clean, dry tile and given time to bond.

How long does installation take?

Fitting the pieces takes about five minutes and needs no tools. Leave the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before you put any weight on the shelves.

Will it rust in a wet shower?

It is SUS 304 stainless steel, the same grade used for kitchen sinks, so constant water does not rust or corrode it. That is the main reason it outlasts chrome plated or painted racks, which lift at the edges once water gets under the coating.

What is in the set?

Two shower caddy shelves, two soap holders, one toothbrush holder and five adhesive pads.

Can I use it outside the shower?

Yes. It suits anywhere you want small wall mounted storage on a hard, smooth surface: beside a bathroom sink, in a kitchen, a utility room or a tool room.

Does water collect on the shelves?

No. The shelves are hollow rather than solid, so water drains through instead of pooling underneath bottles.

Can it hold family sized bottles?

Yes. The shelves are sized for full bottles and the set is rated to 18 kg in total, so a family's shampoo, conditioner and shower gel fit without crowding.

Is this a suction cup caddy?

No, and that is deliberate. Suction cups lose grip as the seal warms and cools through the day. This set uses adhesive pads that bond to the tile and stay put.

Does it hang over the showerhead?

No. It is wall mounted, so nothing hangs off the showerhead or swings when you reach past it.

Will the adhesive work on any surface?

It needs a smooth, hard, non porous surface: glazed tile, glass or a solid shower panel. It will not bond reliably to textured tile, bare plaster, unsealed grout or a painted wall.

Can I fit it to the grout line?

Try not to. Grout is slightly porous and sits below the tile face, so the pad cannot make full contact. Position each mount so the pad sits flat on one tile.

What colour is it?

Black.

Can I remove it later without damaging the tiles?

Adhesive mounts are designed to stay put, so removal takes patience rather than force. Warming the pad and easing it away slowly is kinder to the tile than pulling it straight off.

Can I reposition a shelf after fitting it?

Only before the adhesive has cured, and even then the pad loses grip once lifted. Decide the position first, mark it, then fit.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinsing shampoo residue off now and then stops it drying on the steel. Avoid abrasive pads and bleach based cleaners, which dull the finish.

Will hard water mark it?

Limescale can leave marks on any bathroom surface. A wipe with a damp cloth clears it, and drying the shelves after a shower keeps it from building up.

Is it suitable for a rented flat?

Yes. It is one of the more sensible options for a rental precisely because it fixes without drilling, so you are not making holes in someone else's tiling.

How many pieces can I fit in one shower?

All five, if there is smooth tile to take them. Most people put the two shelves at chest height, the soap holders lower down and the toothbrush holder wherever there is a spare space.

Does it come with instructions?

Yes, fitting instructions are included with the set along with the five adhesive pads.

Is it safe for a wet room?

Yes. Stainless steel and adhesive fixing both suit constant water, which is what a wet room means in practice.

Can I use it in a shower cubicle with glass walls?

Yes, glass is a good surface for the adhesive because it is smooth and non porous. Fit it where it will not foul the door.

Will it scratch?

The finish is scratch resistant, so normal use with bottles and razors does not mark it. Dragging something abrasive across it still can.

How far apart should the two shelves go?

Far enough that a full bottle on the lower shelf clears the one above. Stand your tallest bottle against the wall and mark from there before fitting.

Is it height adjustable once fitted?

No. The mounts bond in one position, which is why it is worth holding the pieces up and checking the layout before you peel the backing off.

Does it work on a tiled kitchen splashback?

Yes. Glazed splashback tile is the same surface as bathroom tile as far as the adhesive is concerned, and the stainless steel copes with kitchen damp and heat.

What happens if a pad loses grip?

Take the weight off it, clean both the tile and the mount thoroughly, and refit with a fresh pad. Most failures come from a surface that was not fully clean or dry at fitting.

Can I return it if it is not right?

Yes. This is a stock item, not made to order, so you have this shop's own 15 day change-of-mind policy on top of your rights if anything arrives faulty.

Getting shower storage to stay on the wall

4 min read SpaceSaver Canada

Why shower storage fails

Shower storage has a reputation for not lasting, and it is usually the fixing rather than the shelf that gives up. Suction cups depend on a vacuum that warms and cools every time the shower runs, and eventually one lets go, normally with a full bottle on it. Racks that hang off the showerhead swing whenever you reach past them and drip onto the same spot until the grout stains.

Fixing to the wall solves both. The question is how you attach it without making holes.

Why not drilling matters

Behind the tile in a modern bathroom there is a waterproof layer, either a membrane or a tanking system. It exists so water that gets past the grout has nowhere to go. Drilling a fixing puts a hole straight through it, and while a plug and some sealant will usually be fine, it is a hole in the thing that stops water reaching the wall.

Adhesive mounting avoids the question entirely. It also means you can fit shower storage in a rented flat without asking anyone, and in a newly tiled bathroom without wincing.

Getting the adhesive to actually hold

The 18 kg rating is real, but it assumes the pad has bonded properly, and that is entirely down to the surface. Three things matter:

Clean. Shower tile carries a film of soap and conditioner residue that you cannot see. Wipe the area with something that cuts grease, then rinse and dry it. Skipping this is the single most common reason a mount comes away.

Dry. The pad needs a dry surface. Fit it before a shower, not after.

Flat. Position each mount so the pad sits on the face of a tile rather than bridging a grout line. Grout sits slightly lower than the tile and is faintly porous, so a pad spanning it only makes partial contact.

Then leave it. Twenty four hours before you load the shelves feels like a long time when the box is open, but the bond keeps developing during it, and this is the difference between a shelf that holds full bottles for years and one that slides down the wall in a fortnight.

Where to put the five pieces

The set is five pieces because shower storage works better spread out than stacked.

Put the two shelves at roughly chest height, spaced so a tall bottle on the lower one clears the upper. Stand your tallest bottle against the wall and mark from there, because the bottle you own is a better guide than a tape measure.

The soap holders belong lower, at the height you actually wash at. The toothbrush holder does not have to live in the shower at all; if the cubicle is tight, it works just as well beside the sink.

Looking after stainless steel

SUS 304 is the grade used for kitchen sinks, so it copes with constant water without rusting. What does mark it is what you leave on it: shampoo residue dries to a film, and hard water leaves limescale.

A wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap handles both. Avoid abrasive pads and bleach based cleaners, which dull the finish without cleaning it any better.
