Wipe the frame and drawers with a damp cloth and dry them. Release the brakes before moving it rather than shoving against a locked caster, and keep the caster housings clear of hair and thread.

Fifteen drawers in two sizes, with brakes on the wheels.

Five deep drawers and ten small ones on a chrome finished metal frame, with 360 degree casters, an interlock and a usable top surface.

Fifteen drawers in two sizes: five deep ones for bulk and ten small ones for the things that get lost in a deep drawer.

Four casters swivel through 360 degrees, with brakes on two of them and an interlock to keep it steady when parked.

The frame is metal pipe with a smooth chrome finish, and the drawers are plastic with metal knobs.

The caster faces are smooth so they do not scratch the floor they roll across.

Two side handles make it easy to steer, and the top of the cart is usable surface rather than dead space.

Rolling Office Cart

Two drawer sizes is the feature that makes this different from a plain drawer tower. Five deep drawers take the bulky things: reams of paper, boxed supplies, larger tools, palettes. Ten small ones take everything that disappears into a deep drawer and is never seen again.

Rolling Office Cart

That split is what keeps an organiser working after the first month. Put pens in a deep drawer and they end up under a stack of paper. Give them a shallow drawer of their own and they stay findable.

Rolling Office Cart

The casters swivel fully, which matters in a home office where the cart has to come out from under a desk, turn, and go back. Brakes on two of them plus the interlock hold it still once it is where you want it.

Rolling Office Cart

The frame is metal pipe rather than plastic, chrome finished. That is what carries fifteen loaded drawers without flexing, and it is also why the cart still feels solid when several drawers are open at once.

Rolling Office Cart

The top is treated as storage rather than as a lid, which is worth knowing when you are deciding where to put it. Beside a desk it becomes a second surface for a printer, a lamp or the things in current use.

Not sure yet? That is fine.

You can change your mind. This shop's own returns policy gives you 15 days from purchase to send it back in its original packaging with proof of purchase, and we refund the price you paid for the goods.

If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. We pay the return postage and you can have a repair, a replacement or your money back, and provincial consumer protection law protects you whatever our policy says. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many drawers does it have?

Fifteen: five big drawers and ten small ones.

Why two different drawer sizes?

Because storage fails when everything has to go in the same size space. Deep drawers take paper, boxes and bulky supplies; small drawers keep pens, clips and cosmetics from vanishing under them.

Can it be locked in place?

Two of the four casters have brakes, and there is an interlock system for stability. That holds it still on a level floor.

Do the wheels swivel?

Yes, all four casters swivel through 360 degrees, so the cart turns on the spot rather than needing to be dragged round.

Will the wheels scratch my floor?

The caster surfaces are smooth specifically to avoid scratching floors. Keeping them free of grit is what maintains that.

What is the frame made of?

Metal pipe with a smooth chrome finish, which is what stops it flexing under fifteen loaded drawers.

What are the drawers made of?

Durable plastic, with metal knobs to pull them open.

Can I use the top of the cart?

Yes, the top is designed as additional storage space rather than just a lid. Beside a desk it works as a second surface.

Is it hard to assemble?

Clear instructions are supplied to keep assembly time down. Building it in the room where it will be used saves manoeuvring it afterwards.

Will it fit under a desk?

That depends on your desk. Measure the clear height under it before ordering, and remember the cart needs to roll out to open the drawers comfortably.

Is it suitable for cosmetics?

Yes, that is one of the uses it is designed for. The ten small drawers suit makeup and beauty products particularly well.

Can I use it for art and craft supplies?

Yes. Handcrafts and art supplies are among the intended uses, and the two drawer sizes suit paper and paints in the deep drawers with brushes and pens in the small ones.

Will it hold A4 paper?

The five big drawers are the ones for paper and larger supplies. Check the drawer dimensions against your paper size if that is the main use.

Can I use it as a portable workstation?

The top is a usable surface and the cart moves easily, so it works as a mobile side surface. It is a storage cart rather than a height adjustable desk.

How do I move it?

Release the brakes first, then use the two side handles. Pushing against a locked caster is what wears them out.

Is it stable with several drawers open?

The metal frame and the interlock are there for that. As with any drawer unit, one drawer open at a time is easiest on it.

Can it hold tools?

Tools and accessories are listed among its uses. Keep genuinely heavy metal tools out of the small drawers and spread weight low.

Will it roll on carpet?

It rolls best on hard floors. Small swivel casters drag on thick carpet, which is true of any cart of this kind.

Does it come with dividers?

The drawers are open compartments in two sizes. Small trays inside the deep drawers work if you want to subdivide further.

Can I remove the drawers completely?

Drawers pull out for carrying and for cleaning behind them, which is often easier than reaching in.

Is it suitable for a school or classroom?

Yes, school use is one of the intended settings. The brakes matter more in a classroom than anywhere else.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the frame and drawers with a damp cloth and dry them. Check the caster housings for hair and thread now and then.

Does it lock so nobody can open the drawers?

No. The brakes stop the cart moving; they are not a lock on the drawers. Nothing confidential or hazardous should be stored in it in a shared space.

What colour is it?

Chrome frame with plastic drawers.

Will the chrome finish mark?

It is a smooth painted finish. Wiping spills rather than leaving them, and not dragging metal across it, is what keeps it clean.

Can I use it in a bedroom?

Yes. With cosmetics in the small drawers it works well beside a dressing table, and it rolls out of the way when not in use.

Is it heavy to move when full?

Fifteen full drawers add up, which is why it has four swivel casters and two side handles. Load the heavy things in the lower drawers.

Can I put a printer on top?

The top is intended as usable storage space. Park it with the brakes on if you are putting equipment on top.

How long does delivery take?

Five to seven days in Canada and seven to ten days to other countries. Delivery is free on orders of $100 or more, so this cart qualifies on its own; below $100 a delivery charge of $25 applies.

Can I return it if it does not suit my office?

Yes. It is a stock item, so this shop's own 15 day change-of-mind policy applies alongside your faulty goods guarantees.

Why drawer size matters more than drawer count

4 min read SpaceSaver Canada

Fifteen drawers, two sizes

Most drawer units offer one size repeated. That looks like more choice than it is, because the contents of a home office are not all one size.

Reams of paper, boxed supplies, folders and palettes are bulky. Pens, clips, batteries, memory sticks, brushes and lipsticks are small, and they behave completely differently in storage.

Put the small things in a deep drawer and they migrate to the bottom, under whatever went in later. You end up tipping the drawer out to find a memory stick.

Five deep and ten shallow means each kind of thing gets the drawer it suits. That is why the split matters more than the total.

Assigning the drawers before you fill them

Worth ten minutes when the cart arrives, and it decides whether the thing is still tidy at Christmas.

Take the ten small drawers and give each one a single category. Not "stationery", which is four categories pretending to be one, but pens, clips, batteries, adhesives, and so on. The narrower the category, the less thinking it takes to put something away, and putting away is where these systems succeed or fail.

The five deep drawers take the bulk, and they are also where the awkward things go: chargers with cables, boxed sets, anything with an odd shape.

Keep the heaviest deep drawer at the bottom. That is not about strength, it is about how the cart behaves when you pull a drawer out sharply.

Brakes, and using them properly

Two of the four casters have brakes, and there is an interlock to steady the frame.

The habit worth forming is releasing them before you move it. Shoving a cart against a locked caster is what flattens the wheel and wears the housing, and it is the most common way a rolling cart stops rolling well.

Brakes on, however, whenever it is parked somewhere it might be leaned on: beside a desk chair, in a classroom, next to a bed.

And a distinction worth being clear about: the brakes stop the cart moving. They do not lock the drawers. Nothing confidential or hazardous belongs in a cart with fifteen unlocked drawers in a shared room.

Looking after the floor

Smooth caster faces are specified so the cart does not scratch what it rolls on, which is the right design for a home office over a wooden or laminate floor.

What defeats that is grit. A small stone or a fragment of something hard gets caught in the caster and turns a smooth wheel into a cutting edge, and it will score a floor in one pass across the room.

Tip the cart back and look at the wheels every so often, particularly if it has been anywhere near a hallway or a garage. Ten seconds, and it is the difference between a floor that stays unmarked and one that does not.

The top is a surface

A lot of people put a cart like this beside a desk and treat the top as a lid.

It is meant as storage space. In a small home office, that extra surface is often the most valuable part of the cart: somewhere for a printer, a lamp, a stack of what you are working on today.

If you are going to use it that way, park it with the brakes on and put the heavy drawers at the bottom, so the whole thing stays planted when you reach across it.
